Thank you so much to the artists and attendees of this year’s Mystery Metal Challenge! It was great to see so many familiar and new faces. Chemers Gallery is honored to support and partner with the Metal Arts Society of Southern California (MASSC) for another talented showcase.
We’d like to extend a special thanks to John & Corliss Rose along with Bill Gallagher for their leadership and assistance with the show.
With one kit consisting of the same set of materials sent to each member of MASSC, they created diverse and unique pieces of wearable art! (Materials photo is shown below) From abstract to sea-creatures, the imagination each artisan demonstrated was interesting to see. We appreciate the time and heart poured into this challenge by the MASSC creatives.
This is our second year hosting MASSC and we cannot wait to see what the next year will bring!
More photos of the event can be found on our Facebook and Instagram.
Chemers Gallery is excited to once again be partnering with the Metal Arts Society of Southern California (MASSC) and hosting this year’s Mystery Metals Challenge.
The 30+ participating members were limited one submission that could be either wearable, functional, or sculptural. In April, each artist was sent a kit of surprise supplies for their work. They had about six months to complete their projects. The artisans used this challenge to raise themselves to new creative heights.
Let’s see together what this year’s challenge brings!
